Broadchurch who is alistair murray

She believed that it would be natural for her to step into the Detective Inspector role, so finds it extremely galling to have to accept the arrival of Alec Hardy who takes the job that she thought was to have been hers and having to take the lead from Hardy only adds to the bitterness that she feels towards him. She finds his methods difficult and ill-suited to the way that she and her colleagues have been used to working so their relationship is strained to say the least. Ellie is a trusting person who is asked to examine the town that is her home and the people who live there with deep scrutiny by the intense and focused DI Hardy, forcing her to gain a fresh perspective on the community which she loves and to see her friends and neighbours as potential suspects.

Played by Olivia Colman. Also seen in:. Arthur Darvill. Paul Coates is a young priest in his first parish and it is one that should, by rights, be peaceful and trouble free. He has made great efforts to be embraced by the Broadchurch community, even teaching IT at the local school and playing 5-a-side football in addition to his church duties. Even the older residents of the town have accepted him and he is seen as something as a figurehead. He tries his best to offer support in the wake of the tragedy.

Paul is completely dedicated to the church and his role; however he too has secrets from his past and he is among those who becomes affected by the fallout from the murder. Played by Arthur Darvill.

Mark is husband to Beth and father to Chloe and to the deceased boy, Danny. He and Beth married young and their relationship is not what he was: they are distant and barely communicate.

Mark himself is quite angry, but the grief of losing his son utterly consumes him. At the same time he has to be the rock for the rest of the family. Played by Andrew Buchan. Beth is the mother to Danny Latimer and also to Chloe, and wife to Mark.

She is devastated by her loss and finds it difficult to relate to people and events around her. Much of the backbone of the drama is the focus on the journey of Beth and Mark and their family following the tragedy. Played by Jodie Whittaker. Film Attack The Block, St. Karen is another outsider, a national journalist for The Herald who arrives in Broadchurch in the wake of the tragedy in search of a story.

It also seems that Karen has a particular interest in DI Hardy and may understand the reason behind his move to Broadchurch. Played by Vicky McClure. The junior reporter for the Broadchurch Echo. He is young and over-enthusiastic and desperate for his first scoop. Played by Jonathan Bailey. Jones, Campus. The editor of the Broadchurch Echo who finds herself with a huge national story right on her doorstep.

Played by Carolyn Pickles. TV Doctors , Land Girls. She is a suspicious and dark character who lurks on the outskirts of the community, always watching and listening. She seems without emotion, save the affection she bestows upon her dog, but she does seem to have something of her own to hide. Played by Pauline Quirke. Also seen in. Telephone engineer Steve finds himself the focus of attention when he admits that he has a special connection to the case.

Played by Will Mellor. Jack owns and runs the local newsagents, JGM News. Played by David Bradley. The hotelier is one of the local business people who become implicated when the effects of the murder in the community start to have an effect on their livelihoods.

Played by Simone McAullay. Nige is a plumber by trade and the workmate and friend of Mark Latimer. He supports Mark through the tragedy. Played by Joe Sims. Mark Latimer - Andrew Buchan. So I'm a little spoiler-phobic, as you can tell by the topic title. Why can't we just get these things the same time as the UK?

Is this our punishment for breaking up with you? So many red herrings! So far I'm thinking that it can't be Mark, because that would be too obvious, and they played that card too early for it to be him. I feel like Susan the creepy dog-walking lady knows something about who killed Danny or how he was killed, but that she wasn't responsible or solely responsible. Nigel is somewhere in the same category.

Given the revelations about Jack, that would also be too obvious--but he's connected to Susan! Who has a different name that I can't remember! I'm dying to know why Susan has Danny's skateboard and what was in the texts Tom deleted. The priest seems a bit creepy, but I think it's just because he has the hots for Beth. So far, the least likely suspects would be Beth's mother and Joe, so I'll go with them, for no good reason.

I will be so sad if it's Joe, though--he and Ellie are adorable together. Everyone is a suspect! The only storyline I find tedious is the possibly fake psychic. Also, I really just want to know what happened with Hardy's previous case already. Francie Nolan Posts : Join date : Like Dislike. Canada must be slightly ahead of the US but still way behind the UK as this just finished this past Monday. They ran it on an odd Sunday and Mondays for four weeks schedule, rather than once a week.

That said, I think they aired the last episode longer, as my DVR taped it at the right time, but it cut off before the end of the last episode. I'm not sure how much of it I missed - 30 seconds or ten minutes, who knows?! I enjoyed it.

David Tennant swoon with his soooo thick Scottish accent, being permanently dour was delightful. All the actors were great, so many Doctor Who and Potter people. The setting was amazing - those cliffs! Gallifrey Girl Posts : Join date : I am loving this show! That can't be easy to play constant grief - to be brittle and raw without any histrionics. Oh, and what is up with her pregnancy and why hasn't she told anyone but Vicar Paul?

Is the baby maybe not Mark's? And whatever happened to the daughter's skeevy boyfriend? Threatening the newspaper lady with rapists? And then right after doing that making her very first friendly gesture ever by saying "hey" to Hardy? I could also do without the psychic, but everything else is golden. I'm not even in a hurry to know who the killer is, I'm just interested in seeing it all unfold.

LadyGayle Posts : Join date : Regarding her pregnancy, I figured she wasn't sure if she wanted the baby shes had two kids and shes only She might be feeling a bit apprehensive about a third , and now with everything else going on its something she doesn't want to deal with it.

Kiran Posts : Join date : And nige said in his questioning that the night danny died he had gone nicking pheasants and had run out of fuel and syphoned some from a tractor.

The fact that danny often went hunting pheasants with him as well as the idea that it was red diesel dripping from dannys hands at the beginning of the first episode could be an idea.

Whoever killed Danny, and for whatever reason, why lay the body on the beach at all? Why not just go further along the coast and then tip the body overboard? Then scupper the boat. If the body was washed up at all, it would probably be days, even weeks, later.

Any DNA would presumably have been destroyed. When he says I got a message, he means literally. Joe Miller did it, he was abusing Tom. This review is hilarious in how bad and inaccurate it is. Was this reviewer even paying attention? Your lack of understanding is simply laughable.
